Job Title: Inside Sales & Yard Associate

Pay: $22-$25/hour

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Inside Sales & Yard Associate is primarily responsible for the sale of landscape, hardscape & masonry products and supplies. Assists the Yard foreman in the supervising and coordinating of workers engaged in pulling orders and delivering product.

This role involves working directly with customers and contractors to ensure they are provided with everything they need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers/contractors in the sale and/or service of masonry and landscape products and supplies.
• Answer phone calls from customers/contractors to take orders and answer questions.
• Input orders into system to generate picking tickets for forklift operator.
• Offer customers and contractors estimates and quotes for masonry, hardscape, and landscaping products.
• Execute full sales transaction cycle, processing with cash, checks, credit cards
• Assist forklift operators in loading/unloading customers as needed.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Landscaping and Hardscaping products
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff
• Must have good communication skills
• Experience operating a forklift
• Ability to remain focused in a busy environment

• Successfully pass a pre-employment physical exam
• Must be able to walk and stand 8+ hours a day and the ability to lift up to 75lbs by self

Job Title: Forklift Operator & Retail Yard Associate

Department: Operations

Reports To: Store Manager

FLSA Exemption Status: Hourly – Non-Exempt

Employment Category: Regular Full-Time

Pay: $18-$20/hour

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Retail Forklift Operator and Yard Associate is primarily responsible for safely operating a diesel or electric powered industrial truck equipped with forklift to lift, stack, move, load and unload products, equipment, or materials. Assist customers with unloading and loading their vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate forklift (Toyota or Linde – electric model).
• Perform pre-operations and post-operations checks of forklift.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks as required.
• Build, organize, and package customer orders.
• Load customer vehicles and/or trailers with the use of a forklift
• Review and verify all orders, bill of sales, and other paperwork before loading materials.
• Load and unload company tractor trailer and delivery trucks.
• Assist with maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the yard.
• Safely transport and systemize palletized items, hardscape materials, and other retail items.
• Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
• Assist retail sales associates as needed.
• Attend to customers in a timely, professional and courteous manner.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in operating forklifts, including reach trucks and clamp trucks.
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving with a focus on warehouse efficiency.
• Experience in material handling and distribution center operations.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and unload/load materials efficiently.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
• Basic math skills for inventory management and order picking.
